Camp Fire Announces a New Executive Director
Allyssa James, MFT of Costa Mesa has been named as the Executive Director of Camp Fire USA Orange County Council by the Council's Board of Directors.
Beginning this month, James will oversee the non-profit organization's $1 million budget for after-school programs, themed camps, residential camp, teen programs, a special needs program, and family life education programs in over 25 Orange County cities.
"The Board's search committee felt that Allyssa's ability to engage with youth, as well as to oversee educational programs and curriculum were the right fit for the Council's mission," said Phil Thai, president of the board of directors for Camp Fire USA Orange County Council.
A graduate of Argosy University, James was most recently a school therapist at Rossier Park School in Buena Park. James is a member of CAMFT (California Association of Marriage & Family Therapists) and volunteers as a Community Resource Person for ANAD (Anorexia Nervosa & Associated Disorders). James is also a certified Behavioral Intervention Case Manager. "This position was attractive to me because it was a way to further apply my knowledge of working with children, youth and families while fostering alliances with the Orange County community," said James. |
